Karri Jo Jernigan is the owner and teacher of IHSDA.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Dance Education from East Carolina University.  After graduating in 1999, she taught high school dance with the Sampson County school system for two years. 

In 2002 Karri Jo opened IHSDA with a vision to teach children a pure, wholesome form of dance - dance that is pleasing to God, moms and dads. 

IHSDA has grown from 25 students in its first year to nearly 100 at the completion of its seventh year.

Karri Jo is happily married, has 2 beautiful children and a new baby on the way!

Ministry becomes Profession

Karri Jo was introduced to dance ministry at the age of 16.  It was then that she began choreographing and performing for churches and conferences.  After college, she continued dance ministry at Highest Praise Tabernacle.  Out of that ministry, the Lord placed a desire in Karri Jo to take her ministry to the next level, reaching more people for the Lord through dance.
